Tisuće poljoprivrednika prosvjeduju u Bruxellesu zbog ograničenja dušika koja će izazvati ‘socio-ekonomski pokolj’
Poljoprivrednici iz sjeverne belgijske regije Flandrije dovezli su u petak tisuće traktora u Bruxelles u znak prosvjeda protiv novog plana regionalne vlade za ograničavanje emisija dušika.
Policija je procijenila broj traktora koji su blokirali ulice Bruxellesa na 2.700. Mnogi su bili ukrašeni velikim znakovima koji su odražavali bijes farmera.
“Ponosan što sam farmer”, glasio je jedan.
Poljoprivredne organizacije rekle su u zajedničkom priopćenju da će sporazum o dušiku kakav sada stoji “prouzročiti socio-ekonomski pokolj”. Željeli su da sporazum bolje odražava buduće izglede za poljoprivredni sektor.
“Svi smo uvjereni da se nešto mora promijeniti po pitanju dušika, ali poljoprivredni sektor ne treba tretirati drugačije od industrijskog sektora”, rekao je prosvjednik Leen Engelen, referirajući se na jednu od spornih točaka u nacrtu zakona.
Isto se osjećaju i mnogi koji su u petak došli prosvjedovati u Bruxelles.
“Naš sektor već ulaže mnogo napora i voljan je to učiniti, ali (vlada) očekuje sve više i više od nas dok se industrijski sektor također širi”, rekla je Liesje Van Loon, vlasnica farme koza.
Relativno velik broj stoke i velika uporaba gnojiva, kao i promet i gradnja, doveli su do razina dušikovih oksida u zraku i vodi u Belgiji i Nizozemskoj koje su više od propisa EU-a i ugrožavaju okoliš.
Planirani potez za ograničavanje emisija u Flandriji izazvao je krizu unutar flamanske regionalne vlade koja nije riješena tijekom 16 sati razgovora početkom ovog tjedna. Belgijski mediji izvijestili su da flamanski ministar-predsjednik Jan Jambon želi donijeti konačne odluke do ovog vikenda.
U Nizozemskoj su farmeri odbili surađivati s vladom na mjerama za ograničavanje emisije dušika, što bi značajno smanjilo stočni fond u zemlji.
